Mi PDF Tools Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Mi PDF Tools handles information in this Android release. The app is designed around local document processing, user-directed file access, and an ad-supported distribution model.

2. Information you choose to provide through app use

The app may access PDFs you open into Mi PDF Tools through Android open-with actions, documents and images you explicitly select, document images you capture through the Image to PDF tool using Google Play services document scanning or the fallback external camera flow, output folders you explicitly choose or grant through Android, generated output files saved by the app, signature strokes and placement settings used during a signing session, typed text plus font, color, underline, thickness, and placement settings used during a text-on-PDF session, local app-private signed-page history images created after successful PDF signing, and temporary files created for import, PDF viewing, preview, scanner handoff, fallback camera capture handoff, document-edge scanning, editing, processing, or share-card rendering. The app is not intended to browse files or folders you have not selected or granted. This release does not request precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or account-login permissions.

3. Local processing design

The app's core document workflows are designed to operate on the device. This release does not require account registration or a developer-operated cloud drive for normal document processing. PDF-to-Word conversion is intended for selectable text in PDFs and does not use OCR or upload documents to an OCR service.

4. Ads, billing, and consent services

This release uses Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK components, and Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent status, display ads, show privacy-choice tools where required, and manage ad-related eligibility such as optional rewarded quiet-hour flows. Those services may use or share device or other identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID or Android Privacy Sandbox advertising services where available, for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, policy enforcement, consent handling, and related advertising purposes. The app may also use Google Play Billing to show the localized price for an optional one-time remove-ads product, launch the purchase flow, restore entitlement, and acknowledge completed purchases. Billing services may process purchase status, product identifiers, purchase tokens, order-related signals, diagnostics, and account-linked entitlement state through Google Play. The app does not receive your full payment card number or bank-account details. Google Play services document scanning may process camera/scanner session data needed to provide the user-directed scanning interface and return scanned page image results to the app. Google services may process device and app information, identifiers, IP-derived information, diagnostics, ad request or transaction data, scanner-related service data, and performance or interaction signals according to Google's own disclosures, settings, and Play policies.

5. How information is used

Selected or opened files are used to perform the requested document operation, such as PDF viewing, merge, split, rotate, visible PDF signing, typed text placement on PDFs, local signed-page history checks, compress, PDF-to-Word conversion, image editing, image-to-PDF generation, preview preparation, and output browsing. App-generated share-card images are created only when you choose to use a sharing action. Advertising and consent-related information may be used for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, frequency management, policy enforcement, and privacy-choice handling. Billing-related information may be used to determine whether ads should remain active, whether a purchase is pending, and whether a completed remove-ads entitlement should be restored on this device.

6. Storage and retention

Generated files are saved on the device either in the default Mi PDF Tools folder structure, normally organized by date and tool name, or in a folder you choose. Generated files remain there until you delete them or another device process removes them. Signed-page history images are compressed image copies of signed pages, may include visible content from the signed page, are stored in the app's private storage, and are named with a date-and-time stamp. They remain there until app storage is cleared, the app is uninstalled, or Android removes the app data. Temporary cache files may be cleared by the app, by Android, or by you when app storage is cleared. Android backup for the app's private data is disabled in the production build.

7. Sharing and third-party handling

If you open, share, print, export, or otherwise hand off a file or app-generated share card to another app, service, or device feature, subsequent handling is governed by that receiving party's permissions, privacy notice, and terms.

8. Security limits

The app is intended to minimize data use in line with its features, but no software, device, or storage environment can guarantee absolute security. Files stored in shared device locations may be discoverable through file managers, search, backup tools, or other device services depending on device configuration.

9. Your choices

You may stop using the app at any time, revoke folder permissions through Android where available, delete generated files manually, clear app storage or cache from device settings to remove local signed-page history and temporary data, and use the in-app ad privacy options entry point when it is shown to you.

10. Children's use

Mi PDF Tools is not specifically designed or marketed as a children's app.
